View all his worksManas Roy, born 1954 is creating visual art under the signature of “Roymans” outside India for last two decades. A unique combination of Engineer & Visual Artists, he holds double PhD. in Engineering & Management from U.S & U. K. He also received M. F. A. (Fine Arts) from U. S. His direct studio training includes training in Indian Fine Arts by Sri Ramanando Bandopadhay for six years, Impressionist art form from La Savoy, Paris & Le Mans, Mediterranean art and sculptures by Govianni in Milan and finally in nineties got trained in Chinese brush works with South China Master Painter Kwan Su Yang. At the age of 18, before migrating to Europe, he received the National Award from Rastriya Lalit Kala Academy. From 1989 onwards, he was participating in many solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy where his Abstract- expressionist paintings were greatly appreciated. Till date he has participated in 16 international solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Far East and India. Since 2006, Manas Roy is creating paintings & sculptures from Roymans’ Art Studios in Highland Park in Kolkata and Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Shantiniketan, West Bengal.
